SCC - Unit Secretary - PT 24 Hours - Excellent Benefits

Performreceptionist duties and a variety of clerical tasks in designated patient careunits by attending to the transcription of physician orders, maintenance of themedical record, paperwork for patients undergoing testing inside and outside ofthe hospital, along with other miscellaneous clerical tasks.
Organized,clean and welcoming work environment with minimal clutter is maintained.
Transportation is documented and arranged for patients leaving thefacility for outside appointments, routine and emergency discharges.
Unit supplies are inventoried and ordered to maintain levels tomeet patient demand.
Patient care referrals are assembled and mailed per establishedguidelines.
Order entry is completed accurately and per hospital policy.
Recordkeeping activities are completed per established objectives.
Administrativeduties such as answering and triaging calls, faxing, copying, etc. arecompleted to ensure the flow of information is timely and accurate on the unit.
Calllight system is monitored and appropriate healthcare team members are notifiedto provide immediate support to patient.
Unitsecretary assignments are coordinated to meet unit demands.
Mentoringand teaching is provided for new unit secretaries to achieve performanceexpectations.
Qualityimprovement activities are completed to support quality goals.
Additionaldepartment, organization, or network activities are completed per establishedobjectives.

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Twoyears of healthcare experience and/or training preferred.
Skills (Specificlearned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding,presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)
Effective verbal, electronic and writtencommunications skills using the English language.
Computerproficiency required. Microsoft officeapplications preferred with ability to learn new software.
Highlydeveloped communications and interpersonal skills, working with diversepopulation.
Workindependently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
Anticipateschallenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.
High level of service delivery.Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines andadapt to changing situations.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
