Full-time 7 hours ago Full Job Description The Sandwich Public Schools is searching for an Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in educational administration, a background in curriculum/instruction and supervision.
Graduate work beyond the Master's degree preferred A valid Massachusetts Superintendent's or Assistant Superintendent's license or proof of eligibility A combination of at least ten (10) years of successful experience in teaching and/or school leadership Demonstrated leadership ability in working with students, staff, parents and the general public Demonstrated proficiency and leadership with instructional technology Reports to:
Superintendent of Schools Performance Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Provides leadership in the development of effective educational programs by coordinating the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate curricular programs as initiated by staff, administration, citizens/parents, school committee or mandated by the state or Federal government.
Support the implementation of the district's mission, vision, core values and goals Supports the superintendent by investigating and analyzing the needs of the school system.
Appraises the effectiveness of instruction and to review recommendations and concerns of building principals, coordinators, other members of the Administrative Team and other relevant interest groups.
Coordinates long-range curricular and budgetary planning for the elementary and secondary schools.
Coordinates horizontal and vertical articulation of all instructional programs in the elementary and secondary schools.
Supervises the design and editing of all curriculum guides and related materials.
Provides leadership in the review and evaluation of instructional methods and programs and recommends such policy changes and improvements as needed.
Provides guidance in the selection and approval of texts and other instructional materials.
Coordinates all curricula and committees.
Coordinates the development and scheduling of all professional development.
Approves requests for attendance at professional meetings and conferences for teachers, administrative assistants, and educational support personnel.
Approves requests for attendance at and reimbursement to courses for college/university credit to be paid for teachers, administrative assistants and educational support personnel.
Participates in the preparation of budgets.
Participates in budget hearings.
Writes grant proposals and supervises the implementation of such grants which support system-wide needs and goals within assigned areas of responsibility.
Also, assists, encourages, and promotes such grant writing by all staff in appropriate areas.
Provides oversight to ensure compliance with the state's accountability system and administrative oversight for various state and federal grants related to instruction to include but not limited to Title I, Title IIA, etc.
Articulates to professional staff, parents, and the community at large the goals and objectives of the schools.
Attends Sandwich School Committee meetings and other appropriate committee meetings and prepares such reports as may be requested by the Superintendent.
Act on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools in approving and supervising home school programs.
Supervise the District English Language Learner program.
Serves in the absence of the Superintendent, when designated by the Superintendent, as the chief administrative officer of the schools.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
